AVI stands for Association of Vapers India. We are a democratically created association representing and defending the right to a healthier alternative to smoking. Our aim is to reach millions of people in India, both directly and indirectly, and educate them about vaping as a healthier, safer and more affordable alternative to traditional forms of nicotine dependency.

Breakthroughs in health and technology over the past few years have ensured a steady increase in global life expectancy rates. Every single time there was a technological breakthrough, laws and regulations are made to ensure that benefits are guided safely and efficiently towards citizens of the world. It is the task of both the government and the citizens to embrace and allow life saving and ground breaking technologies. It has been proven globally that VAPING is one such technology. Electronic cigarettes have been a boon for smokers who have tried every means possible to quit, but failed. Vaping is not only one of the most effective tobacco-cessation method currently available, it is also proven to be 95% safer than smoking. This makes it a life-saver for millions of people in India, who would benefit greatly from its use.

Its a simple technology that enables users to get over life threatening dependencies of various forms of tobacco. Mature and advanced societies all over the world seem to just get the point and are creating laws to embrace vaping. Doctors in the UK now prescribe E Cigarettes and the EX PM of Britain stated that the youth of his country are better of vaping than smoking.

Vaping is simply a healthier alternative and is 95% (maybe 97%) safer than smoking. This has been stated in a popular study by The Royal College of Physicians. However, awareness about vaping is quite low in the India and state governments are increasingly leaning towards a ban on vaping it based on misinformation and unfounded fears.

There are 108 million smokers in the country at present, over half of whom will die of tobacco-related illnesses, impacting not only the economy, but also their families. This can be prevented if they are made aware of this safer option, and if the governments take a principled position on this issue by regulating these life-saving products to ensure safety and quality standards, instead of banning them.

With these objectives of spreading awareness and stemming the tide of state bans in mind, vapers in India have joined hands to defend their rights, and those of millions others, to lead healthier lives.
